STRADA - Scottish Training on Drugs and Alcohol
STRADA website
Scottish Training on Drugs and Alcohol (STRADA) is the leading national workforce development organisation supporting those working with and affected by drug and alcohol misuse. We work to improve the competence of staff working in the substance misuse field in order that the interventions available locally aid the recovery of those affected by substance misuse.
People affected by substance misuse come into contact with a very wide range of organisations. The work of STRADA impacts on those within the broader health, social care and criminal justice arenas, including both statutory and non-statutory organisations.
STRADA views active participation as key to effective learning. Taking responsibility for your own learning, for practicing within a safe environment and reflecting on practice within the workplace are fundamental to our philosophy.
Funded by the Scottish Government since 2001, our provision to multi-disciplinary groups of staff includes: modules of continuing professional development; tailored, specially commissioned courses, and academic programmes.
STRADA is a partnership between the University of Glasgow's School of Education and DrugScope.
