Jobcentre Plus
The Department for Work and Pensions is currently performing a review of the voluntary referral process between Jobcentre Plus, the Work Programme and treatment providers for clients with histories of drug and/or alcohol use with the aim of improving referral rates. As part of this, DWP have updated the TPR1 & TPR2 forms and associated guidance. Due to freedom and flexibility (the autonomy given to local JCP managers) these documents are guidance rather than policy. If you are a treatment provider, Work Programme provider or Jobcentre Plus job coach, please contact DWP if you have any comments or queries about these documents.

Work Programme
The Work Programme is one of the “Get Britain Working” measures and is the centrepiece of the Department for Work and Pensions’ support to the long-term unemployed and to disadvantaged groups. Public Health England, working with prime contractors and the Department for Work and Pensions has developed a protocol to improve communication and referrals in both direction. The following PDFs provide information for drug services and service users about the Work Programme in the South East, and information for Work Programme providers about drug and alcohol agencies in the same area, including key named contacts at both Work Programme providers and drug / alcohol treatment providers. For information about the Work Programme in London, please see here.
