Who Benefits ?

DrugScope is part of a coalition of organisations involved in the Who Benefits? campaign. Who Benefits? is a campaign to give a voice to the millions of us who have been supported by benefits at some point in our lives – using real stories to show the public, journalists and politicians the reality of who needs help, why they need it and the difference that it makes. Work Capability Assessment - 4th Independent Review
Since the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) was introduced it has been subject to annual independent reviews to which a number of organisations working with people with drug and alcohol problems have contributed.
The focus of the 4th review was on whether things have improved following the recommendations of earlier reviews and where there are still ongoing problems. To provide evidence for this submission we ran two separate surveys – one for organisations providing support or advice to people going through the WCA process, the other for claimants and carers who have had direct experience of the WCA in the last year.
