This series of surveys, conducted by DrugScope on behalf of the Recovery Partnership, aims to take a snapshot of the current conditions for and adaptation of the drug and alcohol treatment sector in England. Your input will be invaluable in helping to build an accurate picture of the ‘state of the sector’, enabling us to provide an informed voice to influence future policy implementation and development.
They are primarily intended for local service managers, although we would also welcome responses from (for example) senior managers, senior offices and trustees if they relate to individual services rather than organisations.
We are keen to hear from providers from NHS services, the voluntary and community sector, the private sector, social enterprises and partnerships between sectors.
We are publishing separate questionnaires for managers of adult community and residential services, young people's services and prison-based services. These are available at the following locations:
Each survey should take around 30 minutes to complete. We know and appreciate how busy you are, but it is vital to find out and reflect back the experiences of the sector at this critical time.
To help you to complete the survey, you may find it useful to have the following to hand:
- Details of any changes to your funding and the length of your contract;
- The number of clients accessing your service;
- Their support needs;
- Any impact of changes to the wider environment, including welfare reform;
- Any other services you work in partnership with; and
- To what extent your clients are able to access other specialist services.
In the final part of the survey we ask for contact details, which will be kept confidential. You will also be asked if you would be prepared to participate in a follow-up telephone interview.
If you have any comments or queries about these questionnaires or about State of the Sector 2014 in general, please contact Paul Anders, Senior Policy Officer, DrugScope.
