As a DrugScope member you do not formally endorse or ‘sign up’ to a statement of aims, but share the goal of reducing drug and alcohol related harms. DrugScope members work across a broad range of services, interests and professions.

What does DrugScope do?

DrugScope's objectives are:

  • To provide a national voice for the drug sector
  • To inform policy development drawing on the experience and expertise of our members
  • To work with others to develop ‘joined up’ responses to drug and alcohol problems
  • To support drug services and promote good practice
  • To improve public understanding of drugs and drug policy.

DrugScope represents the views and concerns of our members to Ministers, officials, MPs and Peers, the media and others. We create opportunities for informed debate through regional and national forums, conferences and seminars.

Who are our members?

Drug and alcohol problems impact on the work of practitioners and organisations across health, social care, criminal justice, housing and related areas. DrugScope has around 600 members – individuals and organisations - working in adult and young people’s treatment, service managers and commissioners, children and young people’s services, drug education and related sectors including housing and criminal justice.

Membership rates

The annual membership rates are:

  • Individuals and small voluntary sector organisations (under £200,000 a year) £60
  • Voluntary organisations £90
  • Statutory and private sector £150

London Drug and Alcohol Network (LDAN)

DrugScope incorporates the London Drug and Alcohol Network (LDAN), which works in London to provide independent and expert advice to services, agencies, commissioners and other stakeholders; to support member agencies in providing cost-effective, high quality services that are user focussed; and to engage with policy and decision-makers.
