DrugScope is actively engaged in analysing and developing drug policies, influencing political debate and shaping public opinion. DrugScope develops policy positions on everything from the drug laws to treatment provision, from the underlying principles of drug policy to detailed positions on specific interventions, from heroin prescribing and safe injecting rooms to drug education and prevention.

The drugs issue can be both emotive and divisive, and is often approached in a sensationalist and simplistic way. DrugScope’s mission is to ensure that debate and policy development is rational, evidence-based and informed by the experience of professionals who are delivering drug and drug-related services in the community.
