In 2008 DrugScope hosted a number of forums across the English regions and in Wales. These events were a good opportunity for us to get out and visit our members and also to learn more about the work being undertaken across the regions and Wales.
To build upon the success of these events, in 2009 DrugScope will be hosting two forums in each area throughout the upcoming year. These meetings will look towards achieving three main objectives:
- Supporting the development of good practice in each region
- Providing information and knowledge around national policy developments- both within and beyond the drug sector.
- Ensuring that local and regional concerns held by forum members are articulated to the appropriate statutory and strategic bodies.

Regional Ambassadors
In 2009 DrugScope will be looking to identify forum members from within each region who would be willing to take a more active role in shaping the work of each forum. This will include being in regular communication with DrugScope's Membership Development Officer to ensure that regional concerns and issues are being identified by DrugScope at the earliest opportunity.
