Drug education practitioners forum

The purpose of the forum is to enhance and promote quality in drug education through support for the professional development of drug education practitioners working in formal and informal settings. The forum communicates at meetings (three times a year) and via e-mail, as well as using the distribution list to circulate various relevant documents and news.

There are currently 70 members. Membership is open to all those involved in supporting and providing drug education in formal and informal settings. Members receive regular information and updates on drug education practice, copies of presentations made at meetings and are regulalry consulted by government about issues in drug education.

National young people's drug treatment forum

The forum meets 4 times a year and provides an opportunity for young people's practitioners in the drug treatment field to share good practice ideas. The day is split between information sharing between different agencies and guest speakers talking about national or local policy/initiatives/experiences. There is no fee to attend the forum and be added to the mailing list, however it cannot reimburse expenses.

The forum is strictly for practitioners providing tier 2 , 3 and 4 drug treatment interventions for young people under 19. This includes Youth Offending Team workers, Drug and Alcohol treatment services, prison staff working with young people, child and adolescent mental health services, young people's commissioners, young people's coordinators that are part of Drug Action Teams and people working in young people's policy.
