Information: The NYA announce a series of nine regional events for policymakers and managers from local authorities, PCT’s and voluntary and community sector organisations, to examine the key role that youth work has in addressing the health issues of young people.

Whether it is teenage pregnancy, substance and alcohol misuse, obesity, unhealthy diet, risky behaviours, self harm or any of the other headline grabbing issues, there is no doubt that supporting young people with their health needs has never been so important. Youth work and non-formal learning approaches have always been popular with young people as accessible and non-judgemental sources of information, advice and support on health related issues.

The NYA has been working closely with the Department of Health and other partners to extend and improve the role that the youth work sector has in this field. Each event will feature a keynote address by a national figure. See also the flyer (PDF 566KB)
