FRANK, the one-stop drugs information shop, for the public and professionals has just launched new leaflets for parents and young people to educate them on the risks associated with drug use.
Stakeholders from organisations including Drugscope, Barnardos, Adfam and Young Minds were consulted in the development of the leaflets, to ensure that content is not only completely up to date and relevant, but is also accessible and approachable for both audiences.
Young people and parents were also consulted about their views of the new leaflets, and had the opportunity to suggest changes.
Does your child know more than you?
The subject of drugs can be overwhelming, and many parents dont have the knowledge or understanding to be able to broach the subject of drugs with their children. Research shows that children trust information received from their parents more than other sources, so it is crucial that this audience is armed with the right facts and confidence to discuss the realities of drug use.
Does your child know more than you? provides realistic, up to date information on the legal and health implications of drugs use, as well as an ABC of drugs and advice for parents on how to tackle the subject of drugs with their children.
