Drink Wise, Age Well Trainer/ Coordinator

Drink Wise, Age Well, supported by the Big Lottery Rethink Good Health Fund, is a UK-wide programme that aims to influence and inform policy and practice in preventing alcohol misuse amongst adults aged 50 and over. Addaction will lead its partners, including Royal Voluntary Service and STRADA (Scottish Training on Drugs and Alcohol), to deliver the comprehensive programme across five UK demonstration areas.

In Glasgow we will have a dedicated Over 50s Resilience, Prevention, Intervention Service along with a Skills and Development Programme. The Resilience team will focus on adults over 50 experiencing life transitions such as retirement or bereavement and who may be at risk of increased alcohol use as a responsive coping strategy. The Prevention Team will focus on whole population campaigns, training and community awareness. The Intervention Team will deliver evidence based interventions and group work for the Over 50s and their families, primarily through outreach. The Skills and Development Programme will provide a comprehensive training package in the community targeted at various audiences from peers through to frontline practitioners

STRADA is looking to recruit a trainer/coordinator who will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Skills and Development Programme for Drink Wise Age Well in Glasgow City. The post holder will also be responsible for the coordination of material development and delivery across the other demonstration sites in the UK.
