Director of Business and Development

£45,000, plus performance related bonus scheme

DrugScope is seeking to appoint a Director of Business and Development. DrugScope is the national membership organisation for the drugs and alcohol field and an independent centre of expertise on drugs and drug policy. DrugScope incorporates the London Drug and Alcohol Network (LDAN), the membership body for drug and alcohol services in the capital, and the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP), which is the professional body for the substance use field. We are a small charity, but with significant profile.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and as part of the senior management team, you will develop and implement a business model for the organisation, supporting the effective delivery of our charitable mission and values in a changing environment.

We are looking for someone who combines exceptional business knowledge, enterprise and creativity with a genuine passion for our values, mission and work. You will be expected to increase our income, manage expenditure, help us to realise the income generating potential of our work, and lead a small business and administration team.

You will possess a proven track record of income generation, whether in the voluntary, public or commercial sectors, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the experience and credibility to provide vision and leadership on business development, both internally and externally.

This is a new post, and we will initially be appointing for a 24 month period, with renewal dependent on performance. In addition to the annual salary, the Director of Business and Development will receive 10% of any net income contribution to overheads over the level on appointment, as well as a competitive benefits package.

Policy, Influence and Engagement Officer

£24,000 to £28,000 depending on experience

DrugScope is seeking to appoint a Policy Influence and Engagement Officer. This is a fixed term, full time appointment for an initial period of two years.

DrugScope is the national membership organisation for the drugs and alcohol field and an independent centre of expertise on drugs and drug policy.

DrugScope incorporates the London Drug and Alcohol Network (LDAN), the membership body for drug and alcohol services in the capital, and the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP), which is the professional body for the substance use field. We are a small charity, but with significant profile.

Working closely with the Director of Policy, Influence and Engagement and other members of the DrugScope team, you will take a lead role in developing engagement with DrugScope members, supporting our policy and influencing work, and contributing to the development of the organisation.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes for all those affected by drug and alcohol problems. You will need excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

While experience of the drug or alcohol sector and knowledge of drugs and related issues are not essential, the ability to learn about and understand issues and developments in practice and policy affecting our membership will be necessary.
